Hello from Genius Language Centre (GLC)!

The highly anticipated 1st Session of our Summer Break Special Program has officially kicked off!

Whenever the first week of a vacation program begins, I can't help but feel a flutter of excitement. Meeting new faces, reuniting with familiar ones, and imagining how much our students will grow over the break always fills me with anticipation.

Today, we kicked things off with a very special field trip to the National Museum of Malaysia (Museum Negara).

While classroom learning is undoubtedly important, I firmly believe that the lessons children learn through real-world, hands-on experiences stick with them much longer.

Upon arriving at the museum, the children were completely fascinated by Malaysia’s rich history, diverse culture, traditional attire, and ancient ways of life. Their curiosity sparked a continuous stream of questions:

"What is this?"


"Why did they make it this way?"


"How did people live in the old days?"

Their curiosity was truly boundless.

Throughout my years in English education, I have realised that children learn best not when a teacher is lecturing, but when they become genuinely curious on their own. Today, our students didn't just tour a museum; they engaged their senses—seeing, hearing, feeling, and experiencing everything firsthand.
📝 The Core of GLC's Field Trips: What Happens After the Visit

At GLC, the learning doesn't stop when the field trip ends.

In tomorrow morning's class, we will be holding speaking and Writing sessions based entirely on today’s visit to the National Museum.

Many parents often view field trips as just a fun day out or a simple picnic. However, at GLC, we place a much higher value on the post-trip learning process than the outing itself.

Tomorrow, the children will look back at the photos they took today to jog their memories and engage with questions such as:

"What was your favourite part?"


"What did you learn today?"


"If your friend visits Malaysia, what would you recommend?"

Through these prompts, they will practice expressing their unique thoughts and impressions in English.

By taking what they have spoken aloud and organising it into written text, they naturally bridge the gap between Speaking and Writing. After all, English shouldn't be treated as just another subject for test scores—it is a powerful tool for self-expression.


Today’s museum experience becomes tomorrow’s speaking topic, transforms into a writing piece, and ultimately builds our students' confidence. This is exactly why GLC bridges the gap between experiential learning and academic output.

Our Summer Break Special Program is just getting started.

Moving forward, we will continue to provide diverse hands-on activities and project-based classes so that our students aren't just studying English, but actively using it.

I am incredibly proud of and grateful for our wonderful students who participated so enthusiastically today. ❤️
